Cambodia in global tourism strategy in partnership with Singapore Airlines

Cambodia has announced a new strategic partnership between the Cambodia Tourism Board and Singapore Airlines aimed at expanding the country’s international tourism presence and strengthening regional connectivity.

The cooperation was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in Phnom Penh in the presence of government officials, diplomats, tourism representatives, and airline executives. The agreement reflects Cambodia’s broader strategy to accelerate tourism growth through collaboration with global aviation partners.

Under the partnership, Singapore Airlines will support the international promotion of Cambodia across key global markets by utilizing its extensive worldwide network. The initiative is expected to increase international visitor arrivals while enhancing awareness of Cambodia’s cultural, natural, and coastal tourism destinations.

The collaboration will focus on promoting several major tourism segments, including:

  • Cultural and heritage tourism
  • Eco-tourism and sustainable travel
  • Coastal and island destinations
  • Luxury and experiential tourism

As part of the initiative, Cambodia is also preparing to launch its “Visit Cambodia in the Green Season” campaign, scheduled to run from May through October 2026. The campaign aims to highlight the country’s landscapes during the rainy season, when Cambodia’s natural scenery becomes particularly vibrant and tourist destinations experience lower visitor density.

Tourism authorities believe the campaign can help encourage year-round travel and diversify tourism flows beyond traditional peak seasons.

Industry experts note that stronger airline partnerships are increasingly important for Southeast Asian tourism markets as countries compete to attract international travelers. Improved connectivity and coordinated international marketing campaigns are expected to contribute to higher tourism revenues, increased demand for hospitality services, and stronger global branding for Cambodia.

Tourism remains one of Cambodia’s key economic sectors, supporting employment and investment across multiple industries, including hospitality, transportation, retail, and real estate.

Officials stated that the partnership with Singapore Airlines represents an important step toward strengthening Cambodia’s long-term tourism development strategy and positioning the country more competitively within the regional travel market.
