Cambodia–Russia: Building New Bridges for Investment, Tourism and Economic Cooperation

On 18 september 2026 Phnom Penh hosted the High-Level Diplomatic & Investment Forum — Cambodia–Russia Roadshow, held at the Ministry of Tourism of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

Organized by BRICS House Cambodia Organization, the forum brought together senior government representatives, diplomats, business leaders, investors, and key players from the tourism and hospitality industries — creating a platform where diplomacy meets business and long-term economic opportunity.

The event was held in the distinguished presence of H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and H.E. Anatoliy Borovik, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Kingdom of Cambodia.

At the center of the agenda was a clear strategic objective: to strengthen Cambodia–Russia economic cooperation and translate diplomatic relations into tangible business opportunities.

Discussions focused on expanding investment flows, developing new commercial partnerships, strengthening tourism links, positioning Cambodia as an increasingly attractive destination for the Russian market, and creating more effective connections between government institutions and the private sector.

The official program featured remarks by Mr. Vladimir Palancica, President of BRICS House Organization Cambodia, H.E. Anatoliy Borovik, and H.E. Huot Hak, followed by direct engagement with representatives of Cambodia’s hotel and restaurant sectors and a dedicated business networking session.

For Cambodia, international forums of this kind represent more than diplomatic engagement. They provide an important mechanism for connecting capital, businesses, government institutions and emerging opportunities — particularly at a time when Cambodia continues to strengthen its position as a destination for tourism, investment and regional business development.

For Russian companies and investors, meanwhile, Cambodia offers a gateway to one of Asia’s most dynamic regions and an opportunity to explore new markets, partnerships and long-term investment projects.

The most valuable outcome of such meetings is not simply the exchange of ideas, but the relationships that follow: new business connections, investment discussions, tourism initiatives and partnerships capable of developing well beyond the forum itself.

A productive meeting in Phnom Penh, valuable new connections, and another meaningful step toward expanding economic and business cooperation between Cambodia and Russia.
